Gateway Family Services CIC develops and delivers accredited courses as part of a designed career pathway into jobs within the Health, Social Care and Children's Services sector using a skills-escalator model. Students are recruited from local communities and are mentored and supportedthroughout the duration of their training and early employment. Every year we invite the students and our partner organisations to join together in a celebration of their achievements. This year over 150 people attended a glittering gala evening - this event is important to us as an organisation to celebrate our success, it is important for our partner organisations to see for themselves the dedication and commitment of the students to delivering new services. The students share their success with their colleagues and often become role models for their families and friends. For many this is just the first step on the ladder - to get on the first step many obstacles have to be overcome and it is important to recognise this as a great achievement. |
