Barclays invests £5M in social fund
Barclays Bank is investing £5m into a pioneering fund aimed at boosting ethical consumerism and social business. The £25m social investment fund is managed by Catalyst Fund Management and Research.
The fund is aimed at institutional investors looking to maximise financial returns in sectors where backing successful businesses also generates social returns.
The fund, when it is fully raised in 2008, will aim to invest between £500,000 to £4,500,000 in profitable UK-based businesses.
Although the fund will be focused on the ethical consumerism sector, money will also be available for organisations dedicated to education, health, alternative energy & the environment.For further information please click this link.
