Small Business Rate Relief
You may wish to note that the government introduced a Small Business Rate Relief (SBRR) scheme on 01 April 2005, which gives 50 per cent relief to qualifying small business properties with a rateable value below £5,000. The level of relief decreases on a sliding scale for qualifying properties with rate relief values up to £10,000.
Community Interest Companies may be eligible for the small business rate relief scheme and can apply to the local authority in whose area they are located.
